My Shopping Trip @ Baby Market, Expo (5th Oct)

This is the 1st time that I've been to a baby fair. Reached there around 11.15am and it was already very crowded. Most people targeted the diapers and got tonnes of them in boxes, prams and trolleys! Very well prepared! They already knew what they wanted to buy and hence got into action very quickly. By the time that we (my friend Winnie, my mum and mother-in-law) got into the queue, we were like waiting in the queue for more than 1hr! (Just for the diapers @ NTUC booth)

Important lesson: Be focused, know what you want and go get it while someone else queue up. Very important!! Bring a trolley along!

Here are the things that I got at the fair :)

Visual Learning is important! Don't forget to make it fun!

Your Baby Can Read VCD Set - $39

The set consists of the following:-

  • Starter Video CD

  • Vol. 2
  • Vol. 3
  • Review Video CD

Free Gift with the above purchases!

Book about Animals
Got this book free. It's for Ages 9m and above.

Diapers

Newborn Diapers - 2 packets (36pcs each) for $10.95

Newborn Diapers
Heard that it is common to use 6-8 diapers a day for newborn. Saw this really cheap deal at the fair and bought 6 packets altogether. This is in addition to the 48pcs of Pampers Newborn that I've already stocked up. This means that altogether I have 264pcs of newborn diapers!

Ps. Heard that Petpet quality is not as good as others but in terms of price it is more economical. Hence, decided to use Petpet for the frequent disposal required especially for newborn since baby's poo poo will be little and very frequent at first (even more so if you breastfeed)

S Size Diaper - 1 packet (58pcs) for $10.95

Drypers Wee Wee Dry - S Size
Normal Price $12.85
Got 1 packet of S size diapers first. A friend advised not to get too many S size diapers since some babies tend to outgrow faster. Got a freebie - A hand puppet (See freebies below)

M Size Diapers - 2 packets (80pcs each) for $35.70

Drypers Wee Wee Dry - M Size
Got 2 packets of M Size to stock up first. Got 4 samples of Drypers Wee Wee Dry M Size. (See freebies below)

Freebies - M Size Diapers & Hand Puppet

Freebies from Drypers booth!

Milk

Interestingly, the fair doesn't seem to carry newborn formula milk powder. I was told that they were not allowed to sell this category milk powder as breastfeeding is encouraged. Will get a small can of formula milk at the hospital if the need arises then.

Toy

Learning Puzzle Blocks - $10

Cloth Puzzle

Haven't really got any toy for baby yet.. Mummy likes puzzles hence got this one which can be used for biting too!

Infant Car Seat

Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix

CabrioFix for Newborn to 12m
Got this infant car seat at $269. Original price was $300+. Good thing is that it can be used as a baby carrier, baby rocker and also you can put it onto baby pram if you got the designated one.

Mummy Stuff

Disposable Breast Pads - 90pcs for $9

Korean Disposable Breast Pads

Korean brand. I've got some other brands and also washable ones as well. Will try to know which one is better :)

Another Important Lesson: The parking @ Expo cost $11 from 11am to 4pm. Hence, to really have bargains and discounts from such fairs, you need to really buy a lot to offset the parking fees or you need to park elsewhere.

That's all for now. Hope my sharing is useful. Comments and sharing are very much welcome =)
